So, it looks as though it went through (upwards) at about 8.30 a bit after nine and again just before ten and through downwards for each occasion.  So, six times through the 6000 barrier before 10 O'clock.

Dragged down by China which is dragging down everyone - particularly Australia, Brazil etc. which rely on exporting natural resources such as coal, iron ore and timber.

No idea how many times 6000 was hit today.  If I didn't know better, I would say there are some in the City who read this and thought they would have a bit of fun.  I mean, between half past one and about two forty five, how many times was the target hit from either direction?  Nine or ten by the looks of this graph!

Dragged back down by the yanks, again.

They're probably shorting half the FTSE to death by now.

Sick *******

And shame on the pension funds for allowing this.

Our masters across the channel had a bad evening so better batter down the hatches tomorrow.

Maybe a "when will the FTSE reach 5000" is more relevant now.

See there's more and more so called experts prediction an imminent market crash now.

Can only prey it brings the housing market down with it

Think i'll be topping up my long term portfolio with another Monkey's worth tomorrow.

9% yield = lovely jubbly.

A boring Friday in the City, so obviously the traders were trying for a new record in the number of times they hit 6000

Leave the computer bots to it.

FTSE100 probably still be flirting with 6000 in another decades time.

Little wonder the average joe cannot see past property as the only reliable investment.

That is because they think the FTSE100 is about prices not prospects.
