@BarKohba - You're right.  Sony is the best.  I'm taking my FZ802 back to the shop now.

That actually is a great TV, and I bet it's very good for it's price - it might be the best as far as budget/quality is concerned. But talking about Panasonic, they are great, and have rivaled LG quite a lot, however not so old comparison between Sony's A9F and Panasonic upper-spec FZ952 ended up with Sony being superior.

Here's a comparison, see for yourself (quite in depth):

I'm still waiting on you to back up your claim that their tvs are "bettered by the competition" though.

I'll go back to my original point - if they put more effort into their TVs and less on their phone screens, they could have a global leader.  Meaning that their TV could be the undisputed best ever.  But it isn't.  As it stands, the AF9, as good as it is, is not the best TV out there.  I was at the AV Forums shoot out last November and the Sony looked good (they all did), but it was not great.  The red push was overwhelming - it really jumped out at you.  The Panasonic, which was right next to it, was much more natural.  Most other members agreed.  See the discussion on here:

! Promoted - Philips OLED TV Shootout - The Results & Comments

And what about the awards for 2018.  Sony got best sounding TV, but no awards for picture or overall best TV:

Editor's Choice Awards – Best TVs 2018

What about this HDTV test shoot out?  Panasonic won it again (shame the AF9 wasn't around then):

HDTVTest 2018 TV Shootout winners announced - FlatpanelsHD

The problem here is your campaigning that your opinion is right and I must submit to it.  That's the problem with these types of forums.  You feel the need to justify your purchase or preference and you continue to hound people.

I don't own that TV at all, I have a much more budget offering. You said something that is factually untrue - bettered by the competition is very subjective - I'm just looking at numbers.

You point out a shootout with lesser models, and I pointed out a shootout with actual numbers and measurements of the best of the best - Panasonic vs Sony in that case, and the outcome was -NOT- influenced or created by me, or any other person, Sony fan or not - but by a very respectable reviewer.

I'm basically just showing you objective data and conclusions based on testing and numbers from one of the most respectable reviewers out there, and you're countering it with your subjective opinion.

...why is having the fingerprint sensor on a side button disappointing? It's not.
The Samsung A7 does the same and everyone loves it.
