Ross-Tech/vcds and vehicle warranty

To get my aftermarket radio to work correctly in my vw I have had to purchase a Ross-tech to alter some vcds settings and full credit to alpine and Ross-tech for explaining how data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 (vw dealership didn’t have any issues with this).

The thing is that now that I have a vcds device you can do/activate some pretty cool things like acoustic locking confirmation, change the digital kph to mph etc. Things like acoustic locking is just ticking a box so would that be safe to do from a warranty point of view? Where as changing the digital display is changing the country of the vehicle (less keen) data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Is changing anything even a tick a flat no or are there levels? Lots of vcds guides but very little on the warranty effect

I would hazard a guess that there is no risk to the warranty, unless you dont know what you are doing and somehow managed to fudge up the rest of the software, settings etc

Thankful there are plenty of guides over on the t6/camper van forum so all the options you can do have already been tried and tested, along with plenty of do not touch this etc.

I’ll just do one item at time to play safe so as it’s easy undo and record the alterations made, I’ve already made a backup of the settings for worse case scenario.

Just wasn’t sure so many thanks data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Try something subtle like blipping the remote key so there’s and augible chirp when remote locking etc

That’s the planned 1st one to do later today data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 gone off way to many times with the side door not properly closed etc. The inductor lights do flash when locked correctly, but in bright sunlight...data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
