Vox VT20+ combo

As a beginner I have no aspirations to gig or anything.
I have read the reviews but I would like an opinion from here.
Has anyone used this combo as a practice amp and would you recommend it?

I have it's predecessor, the VT30. Very flexible with a huge range of effects & simulations. The pre-configured song settings are fun & passably accurate. Only down side I'd say is because it can do so much, it can take a bit of getting to grips with once you want to start tweaking. But I suspect much the same could be levelled at most of these modelling/effects amps.

Although with the song settings you can largely ignore that until you're ready to dig deeper.

If you want something small & simple, have a look at the Roland Micro Cube.

Thanks for the info.

I'm swayed towards this amp due to the reviews and I have been offered a nearly new for the right money by a colleague.

Would you see any issues running a bass through it occasionally?

I doubt the small speaker would be too happy taking a pounding from a bass. It may be OK at low volumes but probably best to seek advice from Vox if that's critical.

If you decide against it let me know as I know someone looking for one.

Here's a YouTube demo of mine that will give you a good idea of what it can do. I don't think the   series is too different.

Picked the amp up today, as new condition. It has all the documentation and the foot pedal still in the wrapper.

Different to what I was expecting though,it turned out to be the AD50TV 212 with a pair of 12" speakers.

£80 will spent I think, just need to learn how to play now. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

That's the range before mine but still very similar. The 2 x 12 should handle bass duties better as long as you're sensible with volume.

50W is a little high for home use but I think they also had the same power level control on the back as the later models, so you should be fine. And there's always headphones.

I found the power level dial on the back.

Not powered it up yet, that will be this evening when the house is empty.

I've just put a picture up in GC. Post#1069.
