That is a good point of view. Mine differs slightly in that I would want the best candidate to be a PM / MP, regardless of his/her history. If you filter down by people that haven't had speeding tickets or a bit of weed at Uni, then you are going to whittle your way down to 10% of the population being available at best....

Totally agree. The media never know when to stop or how far to go with anything (a trend started by the BBC who after creating a popular series continue to make it again and again until it is boring, repetitive crap).
I am a bit more concerned about Boris though. You don't think that this period of silence recently broken was him in secret rehab? (Damn, I must stop starting rumours.)
