If you use events such as the D-Day commemorations to attempt to suppress criticism of controversial figures, then it normalises them which is totally unacceptable. It would have been far better to keep the commemorations non-political but the Government decided not to do that.

Surely you aren’t suggesting that there shouldn’t be representation from the country which contributed most to our freedom? Please tell me that I read this wrong.

We couldn't allow the President of the US to commemorate D-Day? You are the one making it political.

Of course you are reading it wrong, quite deliberately I am sure.
There would have been no issue with Trump coming as a routine visit for D-Day. The issue was making it a formal state visit.

We can't have a state visit for the President of the US?

Deliberately really? Jeez fella can’t someone question something anymore?
Why is that an issue having the POTUS for a state visit as well? Seems efficient on someone’s busy schedule to me.

One issue is that the EU has comprehensive regulations (true) but they don't have a great reputation in enforcing them.
Recent tests have shown that significant proportions (around 23%) of chicken sold in UK shops and butchers has Salmonella contamination.Under EU regulations and laws that shouldn't happen.Nor should the introduction of horse into the beef supply chain.
Additionally, studies are showing high, and increasing levels of antibiotic-superbugs (campylobacter and MRSA)in UK supermarket poultry and pork, most likely as a result of the use of antibiotics in livestock as directed by EU regulations.
Proper cooking will kill off the Salmonella and superbugs but lapses could result in illness.
Cheers,
Nigel

What’s your point?
Making fun of the way they’re dressed? Freedom of expression wrt to how one dresses bothers you?
Or perhaps their protest over a woman’s right to choose wrt reproduction and abortion? Perhaps we should leave that to men to decide, as they know best?

She even complained the motorcade disturbed her interview. What do they think is the news?
