How should the West respond ?

First off I'm a little shocked, suprised and disapointed that there is not thread nor mention of this in other threads considerating the diverse opiniated nature of the forum. Do we as a forum, much like word leaders want this to just go away like nothing has taken place ?With the disturbing revelations that Jamal Khashoggi was interrogated, tortured , killed and dismembered .

Now I will agree it's a fluid situation but it all points towards a state sponsered murder of a WaPo journalist in the Soudi embassy in Turkey.

We have Trump talking about American jobs and buissness opportunities being lost . Not seen a lot from our goverment and only large corporations ( not WWE) pulling out due to bad optics .

So what do we do in the UK when we finally get confirmation that they murdered him .

Buissness as usual ?

I expect strong words and Saudi will be in the cold for a while, but little else.

Always seems like the usual. The bad guys are only bad guys if they're not giving us money.

It's an alleged murder and investigations by Turkey are continuing.

I think, at the moment, he is 'missing' until more facts come to light.

Whilst I agree with that weak synopsis and and it saddens me to agree with it. With the recent Russia Vs Skripal attempted assassination would It not be seen as a cop out considering the bullish approach from the UK govement to get the world on board for sanctions and calling on nations of the expelling of Russians .

If we do nothing then what are we ?

I said it was fluid situation , suspension of disbelief is for movies though .

I have worked in enough countries to know that there is a different rule book.
We can't change it just like that, and, as I have seen from some American Republicans, they are calling for the Saudi ruler to be replaced. We certainly have no right to do that.
As for Russia, maybe the outrage was politically expedient and suited our agenda?

I started a response to your post , but Then thought fudge it when I read "we certainly have no right to do that" and my only thought was a journalist being tortured , murdered and dismembered and his death being a meaningless blip .

I know... It's hard to get your head around the way other countries are unless you have had experience working in them.
Realistically, what would you suggest?

raduv1 Publish time 26-11-2019 01:37:56

Realistically,if proved then sanctions need to be implemented as a start point as these will have the greatest effect on the Kingdom considering the push to a more diverse economy they are pushing   . We can then go from there as the so calledjoint investigation will result in the wrong fellas seeing justice.
