It's a good analogy all right, it may well be that we get put through to retentions and even though we have cancelled the TV part of the package they try to keep our broadband custom with all sorts of sweeteners and extras data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I think at this stage, I think it'd be best if the whole thing was dismantled tbh.
EU should serve as nothing more than an open market.
Open borders doesn't really work. You get disproportionate amounts of workers, which necessarily don't suit an economy. Just to add, I don't care about EU migration and don't hold views such as the worry about changing face of community. The process is slightly skewed though. Germany might need more engineers, whilst the UK might need more teachers, the process at the moment is strange, and unfair.
The EU should just serve as a body for common interests, a place for European meeting and a protection from future conflict in Europe. I.e lets say Spain hankers for Gibraltar, the EU can hold them to account. The concept of safety in numbers I guess.

More likely, some foreigner will pass us around different departments with false promises everything will be ok only to get suddenly cut off with nothing. We later find out we got charged for the call.

Its not just the UK that is unhappy about the EU rules. Others find the rules unsatisfactory. But we are one of the biggest economies in the EU and have considerable power (even though at the table we were only 1 in 28)
We might force change in the EU, for the better, before we start talking about Frexit and Nexit
Free trade, only if there is free movement of people, needs to be scrapped. The model was fine when the top economies, like France, Germany, NL and Italy were the only members. Movement was balanced. But now with the new members the economic differences are not equal.
People in poorer countries desert them and move to richer ones. The poorer countries get poorer and the richer ones get an over supply of people- unless controlled.
It would be good to see the EU change, and that would benefit Europe, which we are part of.

The best thing would be for the EU to adapt on the back of this, the project is heading towards a destination which obviously a lot of it's citizens do not like. Only Poland has over 70% public satisfaction towards the EU, which should have the alarm bells ringing tbh.
You'd have to imagine, they will treat Britain poorly in the short term, as a message to other disaffected groups that leaving will damage your economy etc whilst promising reform to those who are going to stay in the Union.
It'd be the best thing for the continent for it to do so, but as far as they are concerned we are already out. Guess we are the guinea pigs for Europe, and at the moment with this sort of leadership we are stuck in the maze which our EU owner's put in for us.

It seems obvious to me that the EU needs to change or fall apart.
I just can't see it happening, the arrogance of the powers that be will be the EU'S downfall.

Why not before the referendum?

I didn't think the vote would be to leave, that people would see the economic argument and not go through the absolutely awful happenings of 2008 that we are still not out of. I had loads of plans in 2008, buy a great house, job was going good, then the markets crashed, recession hit, was awful. Still today things are in balance for the economy and people do not feel secure
