How Do You Guys Feel About New Privacy Bills?

H.J. Res 86 and S.J. Res 34, the two new bills in talks these days. The America President might soon sign the bill and then it'll be official, researchers and advertisers will be allowed to bid for user data and acquire it from isps. The interpretations have been numerous thus far but this is one of the most shocking moves lately. and although people are already crowdsourcing to buy browsing data of some senators only, i wonder how things are going to be.

This is a primarily British forum so I guess most here won't know anything about that.

But it does sound like a horrendous intrusion if people can buy your browsing history.

Who is promoting this in the US and what is their rationale for it?

I read the link and it seemed like more of an ad for a vpn company than a serious political commentary.

Basically, senate. If trump does sign it and makes it a law, it's gonna be a goldmine for researchers and advertisers.

I thought this thread was going to be about Amber Rudd having people who understand the necessary hashtags get her WhatsApp's backdoor

It can be both.If the bill passes, every right thinking internet user will want to run all the net traffic through a VPN to retain their privacy.
