My experiences and my current problem ...
When I first tried out LED bulbs it was GU10's for the kitchen in my old house at least 5 years ago and LED bulb technology wasn't ready yet. They were too blue a light and also too dim. Since then, manufacturers seem to have taken the "too blue" criticism to heart so now the majority are too yellow which is proving a problem for me since most of my light fittings are B15 (SBC). So, my search for 40W equivalent B15 bulbs at 4000k-4500k since causing me endless, fruitless searches on the web. I don't believe any of the 4W is equivalent to 40W advertised bulbs, as this is the most any bulb manufacturer claims, so am looking for 5W.
I have bought four different "Lighting Ever" tester bulbs and like them for brightness and for cost (around £5 to £9). In bold below is the website's description of them. They all pump out a good amount of light. None of them buzz/hum or flicker. Though I have not tested them with a dimmer, as I'm not interested in that. :-
Lighting EVER 10 Watt A60 LED 810 lm B22 Bayonet Bulb, Warm White My View : Awesome bulb. The first I bought from them and the reason I tried the ones below. I'd put it at about 3500K (listed as 2800K).

My View : Very good bulb. Same brightness as the 7W below. I bought them together to compare. Slightly yellower than the 10W bulb. I'd say about 2800K as listed.
7W A60 B22 LED Bulb, Omni Directional, 40W Incandescent Bulb Equivalent, Warm White
My View : Good bulb. Everything is the same as for the 6W bulb, except I'm guessing it draws more electricity.
4W GU10 LED Bulb, 50W Halogen Bulb Equivalent, Cutting Edge Design, 310lm, Warm White
My View : Awesome bulb. I'll be buying 2 more. I'd say they are 3000 K.
I bought the 10W bulb from Amazon and was but bought the other three direct from Lighting Ever. Unfortunately, they only delivered one of the three bulbs, so I had to contact them to send the other two. They did this with no problem, but it meant a fortnight without the bulbs.
So, can anyone recommend or even find a 5W (40W Equivalent), B15 LED bulb, in the 3500K to 4500K range? 50W equiv would do.

I have used both these suppliers. I get daylight bulbs from Lampspecs.
Unfortunately B15 LED only yields warm white.
Good luck searching. I suspect supplies of some LED items are erratic.
I've just bought a few new LEDs.
After two years in the garden, the Philips 12w has been moved to the porch light were, replacing a CFL bulb, it is much brighter.I have replaced it in the garden Victorian lamp with the latest Philips Master LED:

40 quid for a 20w bulb, and it's noticeably brighter than the 12w it has replaced.I also had a small mirror cut to size to fit on the underside of the lamp roof, which helps reflect light down onto the drive.I'm very happy with the Philips Master LED bulbs.
The other bulbs I bought recently are the 5W GU10 and 5W MR16 warm white Astralumen LED spotlights from Homewatt.They are the nicest looking LED spots we've bought (and we have bought several different types).The MR16s went into a bathroom, replacing 20w halogens.The room is much brighter now and using 25% of the energy to light it 25 watts instead of 100 watts.

I replaced some kitchen and bathroom halogen down lighters with lamps from ledhut and am happy with them. Good quality and plenty of light.
We have decided to replace the rest of the house gradually as bulbs go.
So, yesterday one of the bulbs went in the lounge. There are three uplights, running 40w halogen bayonet bulbs, on a dimmer. Ideally want something brighter than existing, but certainly not less bright. Want a warm colour.
I don't know what to replace them with?
Was looking at ledhut again. They have a 6.2w which is 470 lumensat about £10 each or a 9.2w with 806 lumens at about £12 each.
I have gone for the 9.2w from LED Hut. After cashback and discount codes, I got three dimmable, warm whites for just under £30 delivered. Should arrive tomorrow. Will report back for anyone that's interested.
Is the table correct? Surely the equivalent halogen bulbs are a lower wattage than the incandescent ones?

Just to say the LED hut bulbs are here and fine. Colour is very close to the halogens they replaced and brighter. Happy again with LED Hut.

I've got a load of MR16 lamp holders I'd like to replace with GU10s, but I'm a bit of a numpty with these things. Don't really want to call an electrician if this is pretty straightforward, but I can wield a screwdriver in a manly way and turn the power off, so if this is pretty much "all the tricky" then I'd feel confident. I assume if I buy the Amazon GU10 bases, I need some kind of connector box to link the wires to the mains? Any recommendations? Do I need insulating tape as well? Thanks in advance!

Changed my mind about putting those Astralumen GU10s in the living rooms - they're perfect for the kitchen and bathrooms though. Need something very similar in colour terms (and looks) but less bright. Any suggestions? I'm not a fan of seeing all the yellow chips exposed.
