Electric Underfloor Heating.. WHICH ONE?

Hiya

I am renovating a house for my self.
I am just about to install underfloor electric heating in the kitchen.
I have looked at a few systems, Warmup and Thermonet which both are costing around £800.
Then there is Floor Heat Pro, which is around £250.
Yes I know there is a massive difference between the prices and this makes me think that the cheaper one is not very good, but for what you actually get for £800 is a bit OTT in truth.
Has anyone used or know anything about Floor Heat Pro?
Is it any good?
Its the sort of thing I need to get right as I cant be taking the tiles up at a later date.

Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks
Simon

I would recommend a hot water based one over electric every time, yes it's more complicated to sort the valve system but way cheaper to run in the long run.

Check out the underfloor heating store I purchased a heating mat from them and if installed by a professional electrician the product comes with a 25 year gaurantee. They were a lot cheaper as we'll with good after sales service.

We have electric underfloor heating in our bathrooms and kitchen - they are only there to heat the tiled floors, not the rooms - so we only have them on in the morning and evening for a few hours, just like a towel-rail.The main bathroom floor heated area is about 6 sq m, the en-suite just 3 sq m.The kitchen is larger at around 15 sq m.
There are on electronically programmed timers. The kitchen one has a thermostat in the floor, and cuts out when the floor temp reaches the set value. They were put in by the electrician when we renovated the kitchen & bathrooms 8 or-so years ago.
I would use a hydronic system on a whole-house build, but for a one room renovation the electric system
would be most practical.
Yes, they are a luxury item, but they are worth it to avoid that cold tile feeling first thing in the morning, and when you brush your teeth before bed.
I think that the underfloor mats in the bathrooms are by warm-up, the kitchen one was supplied by the electrician. What I do remember them saying to the tiler was that he (the tiler) would have to pay for a new mat if it didn't work , as the electrician tested it after he had done his bit.I'm sure that the heat mat is just about the same - it is the quality of the installation that matters here, plus how fancy the programmable controller is.
No idea how much they cost to run, but don't they can't be breaking the bank, as our electricity use is pretty minimal. What price warm feet?

Have any of you guys tried power controller switch? Heard SolarImmersion?

Yes decided for the price (unless they have come down) it wasn't worth it.

solarity Publish time 26-11-2019 04:06:54

It seems to have. They are selling it at £199 and with a further discount with this coupon code sav270314 which I saw on the chat window. Check the site - SolarImmersion Surplus Solar PV Water Heating Immersion Controller

The one I saw was £499 fitted and it would take too long to pay back, my gas bill is so small anyway(that supplies my hot water at the moment). Do you work for the company by any chance?

solarity Publish time 26-11-2019 04:06:55

Neither do I work there nor is its price £499. It was recommended to us by a known electrician whom we've hired for getting our home heating job done. We're almost done with buying it. Its price is OK , all I wanted was just another opinion about it.
