Any Celiacs out there?
I have been a Celiac on a gluten free diet for about 8 years now.Thought I would start this thread as I would be interested in tips and recommendations on peoples experiences with buying food, restaurants, takeaways and life in general?
Beer is always a problems for Celiacs but I quite like Estrella Damm Daura. Its a nice lager thats not expensive unlike most gluten free beersdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Not coeliac myself but our son has type 1 diabetes and many of the other families we know are afflicted with the coeliac disease as well as the diabetes. All of them state how difficult it is to manage. Plus me but I can't really help because I don't live in UK and never even visited there data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Almost all special diet groceries that I use are made in my country, and I think that theyre not exported abroad.. But it does get a bit boring and repetitive! Budweiser is supposed to be gluten free, but I have read conflicting reports on it. I am OK with one or two but no more than that! Fortunately the UK is a good place for cider with lots of different brands.
What do you drink? Same here, at home things are quite good nowadays, but of course the amount of choices is limited compared to normal people data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 But at holidays I usually have really hard times, I like to travel but now for the last 6 years it has been little complicated because in some countries they are never even heard about condition called coeliac disease, like in Thailand. I could only it safely in some Swedish steakhouse, where was swedish chef preparing the food just for me data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
What comes to drinking (and eating also), my diet has to be naturally gluten free, so there is only few choices available. One is called Mongozo, which is made from quinoa (not all mongozos are suitable) and the other one I cant remember now.
