Changing to e-cig

Hi everyone,

Been a long time smoker for about 10years, about 20 a day. Think its time I packed it in now or at least switched to e-cigs.

I do have a cheap one which looks like a fat pencil but it doesn't give me any kind of 'hit' like a normal cigarette has.

I tried a friends one which was a Smoke Alien I think? Was quite a chunky thing which I'm sure he said was the battery area? Had a little LCD display etc also. Remember him saying it was around the £50-£60 mark? Has anyone got one or one similar to that as it did give me that smoke feeling at the back of the throat (as nasty as it sounds I like it!).

Cheers

Welcome to the E-Cig forum. Most members who vape will have that kind of device, as like you say it gives more of a hit combined with a decent tank.

There are an enormous amount of devices that do roughly the same thing and it can get confusing, some are better than others. The Smok Alien is a good bit of kit from what I've heard but I've never used one myself as I don't use high watts. You will also need a tank for the liquid and batteries to power the thing. Most decent vendors sell kits so you get the whole lot in one though.

The Alien goes up to 220W which I'd probably only recommend to someone who has been vaping a while. Higher watts are used with lower ohm's to produce big clouds but for a starter kit I'd get something under 100W, like the Smok OSUB 80W or Wismec Sinuous 80W. Just to give you an idea of choice have a look over here Combo Kits - Page 1 - vapingman.co.uk

If you have a shop near you you could try some devices out and then just buy cheaper online. Check out Planet of the Vapes forum too as everyone is very helpful and friendly, there are lots of reviews and vendor discounts too.
