Fine by me. I suspect we will, eventually.

The vapour generated by the ecig contains the nicotine, you inhale and it's absorbed into the bloodstream. Some of the more expensive type e-cigs or personal vaporizers are too big to carry around like a normal size cig or rollie so think many just vape at home or puff now and again if out and about. I use my only on my breaks at work and still go outside to vape if at home. This is my one, put it next to a bottle of booze for size comparison.

Why don't governments regulate the contents of a cigarette considering how many dangerous substances it contains?

reddevil63 Publish time 26-11-2019 20:58:39

That won't happen due to obvious reasons

sidicks Publish time 26-11-2019 20:58:39

Which are?

reddevil63 Publish time 26-11-2019 20:58:39

Tobacco industry, the loss of that with jobs gone and farms disappearing, the revenue the government gets in taxes, profits for pharmaceutical companies supplying drugs for smoke related illness. All in all money.

Same as drink and fast food industry, won't ban them and again both can harm the body.

sidicks Publish time 26-11-2019 20:58:39

But, as has already been posted, the cost of dealing with smoking relate illnesses is not insignificant either....

Not quite the same though, is it?!

reddevil63 Publish time 26-11-2019 20:58:40

Still harmful. Yes banning tobacco would be ideal but I just can't see that happening.

I suspect they'd argue that they already did. But I'm sure if you or I wanted to start a small manufacturing company making cigarettes, we'd soon find there were absolute mountains of legislation designed to prevent us doing it, and governing every aspect of manufacture. And obviously, despite that, cigarettes are as unhealthy as could possibly be imagined, anyway. So, so much for regulations protecting our health!

Tobacco companies are too powerful. For decades they've been putting all kinds of harmful chemicals into cigarettes in order to heighten addiction. It's good for business.

reddevil63 Publish time 26-11-2019 20:58:40

Exactly, tobacco companies too powerful, same as pharmaceutical companies.

Anyway hopefully within a year I won't be on e-cigs anymore, weaning my nicotine strength down over time until don't need them so regulations on them won't bother me by then.
