HD Audio over HDMI Not Working For Blu-Ray Discs

My setup is PS4 Pro which connects directly to my Hisense 55M7000 which then passes audio directly to my LG Soundbar but for films I can only ever get PCM 2.0 or Dolby 2.0 and the other formats don't work.

I've set the PS4 Pro to bitstream out DTS and the TV audio is set to RAW and in theory this should pass the audio to the Soundbar which would then output the HD audio track but this isn't the outcome.

I've tested it in several discs and it's always the same, as an aside to this, the problem does not manifest itself on Xbox One S.

Does anyone have any ideas....?

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

I dont use a sound bar i use an amp and plug my ps4 and xbox straight into the amp and then out the amp into the tv. i then set the xbox to Hdmi audio 7.1 and ps4 to LPCM.my ps4 then automatically switches to the bitstream HD audio track if your playing one from a bluray disc.

From one of your other posts

You can't get HD Audio using optical (only lossy audio). If you want HD Audio you need to use HDMI as shoestring25 describes.

I'm aware of that side of things but it should still playback the DTS core audio, I think it's something to do with my TV to be honest.

don't forget that for movies there is a separate setting from the options menus you get while watching a film. make sure you choose one of the bitstream options from here, it's not enough to only set bitstream in the ps4 system settings menu.
