So ive had the complete revelation that my in ear headphones (some seinheisser about 50 quid, cant remember model)are absolutely brilliant for gaming and movies.

I have them running though my corsair st100 headphone stand.

my question, would some sort of amp or headphone combo make it even better?   anyone use?

The way to make any headphones sound better is to run them through a DAC. There are portable ones that you can use with a phone or slightly larger ones designed for static use.

In ears will never sound as good as over ears due to the physical size of the drivers. Also you need to be careful if using them for prolonged periods of time as they can cause damage due to the close proximity to the ear drum. Gunshots in games would be particularly bad. I'd either invest in a better set of in-ears or a decent pair of over-ears. For sound quality you can't beat the Beyerdynamic DT770's at the price (£120ish).

Should try these(link below), I have a pair and they are a revelation at the price. Have not tried them with games but will do soon. Have tried others i have for handyness on laptop like my Soundmagic E10 and I agree they can be very good for games.
I have a few headphones including senn hd650, hd598cs, grado sr60. And some Steelseries arctis pro dac headset.
The T2's sound amazing. As said do need a decent dac for pc tho for anything to be best.
