Sony Xperia XZ2 charging & screen issue

Hi
My XZ2, has developed a couple of issues I think are connected.
The charging port and/or cable seem to be faulty. When I plug in to charge it starts charging, then stops. Often its overnight and in the morning my battery is still almost out.
Now I have a vertical line running down the screen parallel to the port.

Any help appreciated
