thanks

Generic recycled brand budget TV. The manufacturer (Vestel) usually does a reasonable job for the price point, although they can be weak on sound.

thanks guys, the hisense 65u7a is 200 pounds more.

will we notice a difference? we only really watch sky q, and youtube.

this toshiba is 599 which is a good price for us

rally233 Publish time 1-12-2019 22:40:45

do you think it is worth 599? just dont want to spend much as it will be replaced when 65 inch OLED come down in price

Goldorak Publish time 1-12-2019 22:40:45

So it is a stop gap tv? Hmmmm
Will it go second bedroom...look at 55/49 and you may find better TVs perhaps. Good TVs you can keep and use

thanks very much for your reply,

sorry for my lack of knowledge but I am not sure what hDR is, we only watch sky Tv, normally channels like BBC ONE HD etc. Also we watch youtube videos. Hence I wonder if we will really get any noticeable benefit from paying the premium for a higher spec panel. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I had a look at the list you posted and one of the TVs you mention is the 'Hisense A6xxx Series'
from my limited knowledge this seems to be identically spec'd to the Toshiba 65u638 which is on offer? Link: Toshiba 65U6863

we are currently running a 40 inch 1080p hitachi so I think anything is an upgrade for us data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Please let me know what you think I very much appreciate it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Thanks again and i look forward to your reply.

I cancelled my post not to influence you but looks like I wasn’t fast enough...

Issue you have is that we don’t have reviews of the tv your after so that could be a risk...versus the list I shared with you (reviewed by this site)

Like I said previously, if this is just a stop gap tv, you have to ask yourself for how long and what you do with it after (second tv, you sell it,..)

Read below for the pleasure but you really don’t have to data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

What is HDR? High dynamic range TVs and phones explained

The link has the best TVs by size...
You looking for someone to tell you toshiba is ok? Answer is yes and same for hisense...endlesswaves is right.

However, if you are after a stop gap tv, I think you can manage better overall TVs for 49 and 55 size...again look at the shared best tv link with some good Samsung (NU range) and Sony (xf85 and xf90)...pana possibly. Oled B8 from LG which may reach £1k in 55.

One final advice: you don’t know what you are missing until you see it...just sit for a demo with some good TVs like oled or Samsung Q9FN or Sony xf90. Try also to see the Samsung 8k monster just to experience hdr. Of course, they are all mostly out of your budget (Sony not that far) but the idea is to make you appreciate 4k and hdr in a good tv. Watching tv becomes a pleasure like drinking a good wine in a proper glass and appreciating it.

Never be sorry for not knowing. You are talking to people which love everything about tv and passionate about it...

Not always the best people as we try to bring you to the dark side like trying a good drug or something...

All the TVs I mentioned for sampling (just pleasure) are mentioned here
