Thermaltake Core p3.. worth it for a new build ?
I'm looking to get back into pc building after a 10 year gap.. and looking to get an honest opinion please on a certain case which i am thinking of buying.I am looking to get the Thermaltake Core p3 case. I've seen far too many JP Modified vids on youtube and he's doen a few insane mods with the P range.. although i have seen mixed review on the case itself for stability and threads being stripped on assembly ?? I am used to Coolermaster cases and i have an ancient Thermaltake Tai-Chi case currently.

If you're looking to build a water cooled rig then it's more suited to this case than air cooling only.
The threads being stripped would be down to quality control the the product.
What kind of build are you planning to go for? Looking to start with AIO watercooling to start with as i'm wanting to ease myself back into the world of custom builds. once i'm up to speed i'll prob look to hard tube watercooling as i'm more than used to felxitube An AIO would be a good start to this case, id go with a triple AIO to fill the space nicely at the side of the motherboard. Plus that will give you loads of headroom to OC your cpu should you wish. There is a space on the back of this case for a pump and res combo so if you get round to updating to a fully custom water cooled build then there's room for it. However if you want to water cool both cpu and gpu in future you'll only have 360/420mm rad space to cool them both, doesnt leave a lot of room for OCing. Not that interested in OC to be honest.. its just the aesthetics and the noise platform. my current pc runs very very silent on air and i'm using the silent fan feature on the gpu so it only comes on at a set temp which 90% of the time i never reach.. its only during the occasional gaming that i do hit that threshold. What case are you currently using? Only if its a closed case then the thermaltake core p3 will likely be louder due the the open air design, you will however be able to run the AIO fans very low because of this, plus with a triple rad (preferably 420mm) you'll have more than enough cooling capacity to handle a cpu at stock.
Tbh you should have no problem running a quiet rig if you rarely ever reach threshold and when you do during gaming its hardly noticeable. Currently using a closed Coolermaster Lite box atm.. just a small matx thing.. twin 120's at the front and a 120 at the rear. nothing fancy Three cases come to mind, Thermaltake P5, Fractal Design Define R6 and Corsair Crystal Series 460X or 570X. All have plenty of rad support, are ascetically good looking cases and depending on your budget are pretty good prices.
The thermaltake p5 is the same near enough as the p3 just larger with more support, they've also been reduced on scan.co.uk atm. There is more tempered glass covering the top and front so this could be another way to go.
I was going to purchase the Fractal Design at one point because of its rad support and the fact it looks sleek and keeps noise levels low.
The Corsair cases look really good imo, again plenty of support and customisation options. Not sure i have the physical room for the P5 ... its huge! and i only have an mATX mobo! How about the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX? Its the slightly older model of my current rig, the Evolv X. Its a fair bit smaller than the P5 and looks great. It fits a triple rad in the top, easy installation. Plus its going for quite a good price on amazon, since its an oder model and id assume itll be phased out at some point
