Installed new RAM but lost display

Hi. Today I had my new RAM delivered which I was eager to install.

I did my research and the RAM I ordered is compatible with my build.

After installing, I started up my computer and only got a blank screen saying no signal.

I thought it would be okay if I put in my old RAM, but now I just continuously get a blank screen saying no signal.

I have tested two CPUs and GPUs, taken out the motherboard and checked it over, tried using a Windows recovery USB, butto no avail.

The one common thing is that the HDD activity lights are no longer functioning at all.

My build is:

Asus Prime B350 Plus
Ryzen 5 1600
RX 580 8GB
Samsung 8GB 2133 (old RAM)
120GB SSD
2TB HDD

Any help would be appreciated and if any more info is needed, let me know.

Did you take anti-static precautions e.g. wrist strap?

Do you get any bleeps on start up? This can tell you the fault -https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1029959/

I didn't use a wrist strap, but I am grounding myself before touching anything inside the computer.

I don't get any beeps at all from the motherboard speaker.

That should be OK.

No, not good enough.
The idea of the strap is to provide a continuous dissipative path for any charge both “on you” and “generated” by your actions within the computer.

Pushing ram into a slot can generate more than enough charge to kill the motherboard with a CDM ESD event.

I think this may be what has happened.

I just tested my old motherboard with current PSU, old CPU and RAM, and it gets a display.
