How to resurrect amp SSD...

Lo gents...

When my MBP died of mainboard failure I replaced the board and all is well.

Except for the ssd I was using.

It still has all the data from pre crash, but I already have a copy as a back up so I simply want to scrub it clean and use it as my main hard drive to replace the smaller HDD I’m currently compelled to use.

However it will not accept being reformatted, repaired, or having the file system changed from apfs back to the more usual guid.

I’ve tried everything the Terminal has to offer but nothing works.

Is there a more powerful software I can try to force the damn thing to reformat?

It’s a 512gb Crucial MX100.

Replace it.
Even if you can getting formatted there is no telling what has happened to data retention.

Yeh... that was my thought too. Damn.

Cheers sir.

What's happening when you try? Presumably it's not giving you an error message saying "I do not accept your reformatting!"
