Camera + Lens

I have a Canon Eos 80D. When I attach a Jintu 650mm to 1300mm lens the camera says there is no lens. How do I get the camera to recognise the lens?

There's normally a release shutter without lenscattached option buried in the menu settings but I can't actually find one in the 80D manual.... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Thanks for trying.

On my R 'release shutter w/o lens' lives in custom functions but as you say not for the 80D.
Checked my 750D and my 6D and they don't have a menu item for it either. However both will release the shutter without a lens on the body at all. I've had lens errors in the past and cleaning the contacts often fixed the problem. Maybe the lack of menu item is a red herring and it's perhaps a problem with the T Mount?

What mode were you using? maybe this apparent auto 'release shutter w/o lens' only works in some modes. So try perhaps Av or manual.
