hi thanks for reply have seen that page for my DVR is veryhelpful but doesn't offer a solution to my problem, i'm assuming there wont be a solution as even zosi support not replying to my queries, hoping for an upgrade to software

How many cameras into how many inputs? I haven’t checked any instructions but is there a setting (or two) that sets it to record these intermittent length shots form more than one camera? Is there a setting that sets it to record all connected inputs at one time on a ‘split screen’? Motion sensors used?

Ok now I have checked that link and it seems to show how to record any or all connected cameras all the time in a split screen - as I would expect?

So have you tried manually setting and selecting the inputs you what the record 24/7 as shown in the instructions? Is it then not doing as it should? If so you will need manufacturer support or warranty return to wherever you bought it I suggest.

i have manually set camera one ( ie just one camera ) to record 24/7 still records in short sections of about 2 to 3 minutes? with a 2 to 3 second loss of recording between each grrr

If as per my last couple of sentences you have done that according to the instructions, and assuming you have gone through the whole menu in case there is answering that affects this operation, you need to contact the seller and start a process to sort it under warranty.

The forum that includes CCTV was linked earlier in post #2 if that’s what you are looking for.
