Hey guys
I am currently trying to set up something for my local gym. They would like to be able to give the customers a nfc tag and for them to walk in scan it and for it sign them in and display on the screen when there weekly or monthly payment is due. Does anybody have any idea how I could do this please thank you.

The first thing to do is to see what options your current membership software offers for external authentication and control.

It's going to be less work to use an already compatible system than to write something yourself (or pay someone to do it if you're not that way inclined).

This is the thing is they currently use pen and paper lol. The gym has recently been brought and they would like to do away with the paper and make it more modern. If I hook up a NFC reader to a laptop could I get that to fill in a excel sheet or something with there name. Thanks for the reply

That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen when you're talking about customer details.

I would focus on getting a proper, secure, legally compliant (GDPR etc.) system for customer details. Keep an eye out for NFC device compatibility when you're researching that but I'd focus on getting the core system right. It's a lot less disruptive to change the way the output is presented than to migrate customer data to another system or format.

I haven't looked into what's available so I can't recommend anything in particular.

I dindo think they want there bank details I think they just want a note to pop up on there computer screen with the person's name and the date there pass expires. If it could put there name in to a excel sheet as well to keep a record of whom has been in that day that would be great. Don't want anything to complicated lol
