Hoverboard repair

I have a MAOBOOS hoverboard i bought at christmas. It has been very good quality.

It has now stopped working and im unsure of what the problem is. Ive tried the calibration trick but no joy...

The problem is it won't start, i plug in charger, yellow charging light flashes but never charges up and when i try to turn on it just flashes red then goes dead..

When you insert charger, the light on the charger should change from green to red but for me it just blinks red then remains green...

So thought its maybe the charger, but ive tested voltage and its reading a steady 42v, but maybe this doesn't matter, maybe it still needs replaced.

Ive dismantled the full overboard, checked for any loose cables, loose screws, signs of damage etc...

Checked voltage on battery which is only 29v but this makes sense if its not getting charged up...so could need a new battery.

IMHO 29V would be heading for over discharge protection aka get a new battery. I consider less than 32-33V for a 36 volt nominal voltage Li-ion battery as discharged. Manufacturers push the limits nowadays and I wouldn’t be surprised if that one has the over discharge protection activated. Although many manufacturers might set that around 27V it is still seriously drained. Again IMHO.

have to agree with this you need a new battery

my daughters boyfriend has one doing exactly the same
plug the charger in and the charger light stays green, the light on the hoverboard flashes as if charging but nothing happens

if you decide to replace the battery watch out for the fake sanyo packs
