I went for a test ride before I ordered it with the intention of getting a green one but the test bike was orange and it was a bright sunny day. It looks stunning in the sun (the paint sparkles) so despite having to order one and wait a couple of weeks I went for orange (green was available immediately).  So glad I did.

Going to be keeping my eyes out for an SV650 aswell. Will be looking for a naked 06 plate or later with a flyscreen/screen. Not picky

They're smart, but a real oddity.
Harley Davidson badges, but I think it's a Rotax engine?
How on earth did that come about!

Yeah you're right on both counts. 350 single air cooled rotax.

This is an MT350, made by Harley Davidson in the states after Armstrong sold the rights to produce it to them. Armstrong made a 500 kick-only version before this. All are ex-military - from direct contracts, none ever went direct for civilian purchase.

It's fairly slow on the road, but got me round Scandinavia OK!

Last night was looking at bikes are starting to decide on what I was going to be mainly looking for; a fully faired SV650 06 plate or later, and managed to find one for sale at the nearest J&S.

So, went to J&S Northwich today to have a proper look at the SV and a few other Bandit's. Outcome? I definitely feel confident sitting on each, 'pointy' SV650 is a little higher; maybe a little too high, and seeing a half-faired Bandit in the flesh actually looks very good.

Sat on the GSF 650 Half-faired bandit and thought 'jeez this is comfy'.

Question I should've asked while I was there, what would J&S want to see before they let me out on each of the bikes? (This would obviously be after passing Mod 1 and 2)

Both parts of your licence and for you to sign a waiver for their insurance whereby you agree to pay for the first £1000-£1500 of any claim, plus if a new rider you nay be escorted by another rider.

Is comfort a priority?
Things must have changed, because when we were young comfort was the last thing you worried about when looking at bikes!
