Not too bad. He'll be without his pride and joy for a couple of weeks. What hurt more was a 67 year old offering him driving lessons, especially as he's in his early 40s.

I am quite impulsive - I didn't set out to buy a new car last week but after seeing the offer and then driving an m140 I was hooked! Not really a 1 series fan but felt its an itch that needs to be scratched.

Over 18 months ago I took a 1 Series out, a 220d M Sport. What I did really like was the superb auto box, silky smooth and there was plenty of power on tap. What I didn't like was the sport seats, the squab was just too long for both myself and the wife and made the drive somewhat uncomfortable. Back in the showroom we tried a 3 Series with electric memory seats but again these were just too uncomfortable.

The Golf GTD was very comfortable from the first time we sat in it and certainly held on to you better through corners than the BM did.

Basically from this little comparison is that you're really getting old when seat comfort is number one on your list.

Bmw sport seats do take some adjustment to get them just right, there's so many adjustments it took me a few weeks to get mine perfect and even then I can't see the bottom of the dials info screen.
