I have asked Economic Comics about Variant pricing. I stuck a self imposed limit of a fiver, but dont want to miss a Batman variant cover really, so asked if they know which titles are going to have variants, and how much do they charge for them.

Edit: And added Flash, WonderWoman and Superman to my list.

EC's price for 1:200 is £79.99, 1:10 is £3.99 and 1:25 is £12.99.

The other variants are £4.99 (i.e the ones that are not 1:X).

All part of my market research.
