"Keeping your spouse in line.."

Please tell me you're either 15 and trying to look funny to your chums or a time traveller from the 19th century ***.

Hang on, I forgot the 3rd possibility that you're a single 30  year old man still living with your parents and don't get out much so your only friends are Brietbart and Jezza

What's a basment and thanks for adding the extra detail to your description.  I've never heard of a neckbeard before so thanks for the education.  Have fun with the manga porn too but don't let your mum catch you.  Then again, I'm sure you'll "keep her in line" like a big man

What is it with this, 'fixed that for you'?
I have noticed its crept in recently and not just here, is one supposed to respond in a certain manner?
I can see the goodwill gesture for a lazy dim composer like myself, however, when i read back on my post that has the fixed that for you edit, the gramtical error etc are still there, just the point reworked to be the opposite. I dont get it.

It's a sarcastic way to attempt to twist what your post said to make a joke or ridicule you.  It's usually used as a deflection tactic by people who are unwilling to admit the facts.

Lighten up weavie old chap, crack your face for a change

Bye the way ,if you are that concerned about domestic abuse, Hilary's old man was not exactly a shining example of a great husband....

Dont worry, it will reach Wales eventually. I mean, you've even had electricity for a while now.

It's not all bad, it's also used genuinely, to inject an element of humour, but generally you'd only do that to someone you get on with.  However, as you note, just like the "funny" it is frequently used maliciously.
