Hi.

We recently built a new house and has an air source powered water/underfloor heating system installed. We are having issues with the system and the company that installed it. They also installed solar, but as far as I can tell that’s ok.

I don’t want to go into specifics just yet, but I think it might be a good idea to get some formal independent advice, maybe a report in case things get sticky.

Has anyone else been in this position, and can  anyone recommend an consultant?

Many thanks.

I assume they were accredited installers? MCS Installer Standards - MCS Installer Accreditation | Easy MCS  If so, they should abide by the Codes of Practice?

You'll need to specify where you are located (to at least County level) so people can suggest local experts they know to check/report your installation.

However this website is a bit quiet on the subject - see Cocksure's enquiry a few threads down

I've lurked and read up about such systems over at LPG,  Heating Oil, Solid & Other Fuels - MoneySavingExpert.com Forums where there are a few knowledgeable types. Other 'green' or d-i-y / plumbing forums may be worth a search and read for similar problems to those you are having?

It's still not mainstream and not straightforward to design/set up correctly.

Always good to hear what problems are being experienced with different heating systems to help educate others.  However appreciate that you don't want to talk specifics and are seeing a 3rd party view on the problems you are experiencing.  I take it the newly installed system and its problems have been mentioned to the supplier to fix and they failed to fix them?
