Lots of talk about houses, but what about sheds? Anyone else have a solar powered shed? My set up is still in its infancy but has a 30w panel feeding a small leisure battery for now.

Excellent. As well as saving electricity, an armoured cable running from the house to shed also costs quite a bit, especially if the shed is at the bottom of the garden.

I have a long, thin garden so the expense of mains was an issue. Frustratingly there are a lot if tall trees blocking sunlight on my shed hence why I made a portable, adjustable stand. I have asked the council to trim the trees but I'm not holding my breath.

What would you like to know? I am a beginner yet my system works and there have been ZERO fires so far.

Hi
Have you got a link to the kit?
Where did you get it from
I see some kits in Amazon with 4 led bulbs for around £100
Any good?
Thanks

I looked at loads of different kits, considered building my own kit ec but eventually went for this.

12V solar panels charging kits for caravans, motorhomes, boats, yachts, marine

A lot of the cheaper stuff is poor quality it not what it says it is. This kit had everything I needed and good instructions. All I did was add a cheap digital voltmeter so I can see what was going on.

Mine is for a golf buggy, I also charge a car jump start pack with it. If you need more storage the batteries for caravans are the best. The battery needs to match what you will be using electric for. If you spend a few hours in the shed, run lights, a radio etc you will need a bigger battery.

A handy guide
