It's pretty cool, I haven't seen the spartan one yet but all the others are amazing, the artist has serious talent. Here's some of the other ones, along with some from the old unit and when Ronnie Coleman visited!

Found my favourite one, it's about 5 foot tall and it's one of the first things you see walking in!

I have to agree to an extent despite my 'fitness centre' being poor... but I live out in the sticks and at least I'm able to do deadlifts and squats etc... and it's cheap as chips @ 25 quid a month...

I had thought about joining one closer to work - then having a workout then avoiding the rushhour traffic home. but I think overall having the close 1/4 mile away is better overall...

@Charlts

Excellent incline bench mate.

I really struggle with the incline for some reason compared to decline and flat.

Might have a look at your gym I'm only in Birmingham although your warm up sets would probably push me to the limit!

oops wrong thread

But regarding the best gym being closest to you, this is good advice for people in general because the difficulty most have is actually getting to the gym! You are far likely to go frequently if you live close to it.

You're welcome anytime buddy, remember I train with my wife so swapping plates about isn't an issue. We'll certainly get the most out of you if you fancy pushing it?

There's been more work done to the Spartan wall today.

Best thing I ever did was get a running machine, decent bench and rack and a load of weights at home.

Makes it so much easier/convenient to train although it does have one or two downfalls as well!

Good luck everyone training today, after resting all weekend along with judicious use of ice and ibuprofen my knee feels better and is less swollen. If I do train this week it'll be pressing movements only with minimum knee load, already done two sets of 10 pull ups though!
