A very good wine to accompany spicy food is an Argentinian red wine made of 100% malbec grapes.

I was in our local Indian yesterday and the in house trade mag had an article saying that whisky can go well with spicy food, though how wrecked you would be afterwards was not touched upon

get your customers plastered on whisky then sell them loads of extra side dishes!

every time i go to an indian that isn't my regular they seem to ask me what naan bread i want with my curry and rice and if i want vegetables too, and they seem baffled when i say no thanks, its like, how many people eat a whole curry, a whole rice, a while naan bread and a side of bombay spuds?
that's enough to last me 2 whole nights!

They have a large selection of wines in our local curry house though, never seen many people having them though really.

hehe, whiskey? Well, if the meal isn't up to standard, at least my guests won't remember

I prefer a red wine given a choice, but always tended to drink beer with Curry and yes, Cobras a good bet, however, I've opted for a Chardonnay Blush for a change, with plenty of back up options if needed

I remember the days when it used to be beer but I wouldnt give it a thought these days. I always accompany my food with wine (apart from pub fish n chips). In the beer/curry days I used to go out my way to a resturant after they once served me the excellent Lal Toofan lager, in fact it was the only place I ever saw it.
