Old unused Xbox Live code - still active?

I've just found a Gears of War 3 12 Months Xbox Live Gold Membership   2 Bonus Months pack and the Xbox Live code hasn't been scratched off.

As the pack is unavailable to buy now and a few years old, would the code still be valid?

I would have to disagree. I found an old unused code in a copy of Burnout 3 and it is invalid. They are only valid for a certain amount of time, and they have an expiry date in the small print on the back so its worth checking before you redeem.

I tried to redeem and it came up with 'game trial' but then told me it was invalid and that MS would investigate.
