Adding a smart light switch to a 2 way circuit with no neutral.

The level of automation I'm currently looking at currently is scheduled routines of lighting , a smart bulb on the landing is out of the question, with two way control and elderly guests I can forsee confusion, I use a smart bulb on a schedule in one of the hall lights as its only 1 way switched and that switch is out of the way.
I feel a PIR controlled light would result in a disco with the dog wandering around and uneccessary activations with people visiting the downstairs loo which is conveniently placed half way up the stairs...
Although I would like to incorporate a PIR or maybe door sensors in the future for when the little one starts getting up in the night.

Unless you are prepared for some expense, Lightwave RF is realistically your best option. ZWave is going to cost you £100  to set up (very basic) but you will have the infrastructure to automate other lights.

Otherwise why not just look at a manual timer switch ?

I beleive the new Shelly dimmers can be used without a neutral and in a two-way circuit.

Thanks, I've been having a look at the Shelly range, I belive the Shelly 1 would do what I want but would require a neutral, if the dimmer doesn't that would be ideal as it does on/off.

I have the Shelly 1 and Shell 2.5 and they are great. I would have suggested them except you said you don't have the neutral. I am pretty sure the dimmer, which is up for release soon, doesn't need one.

Never seen the Shelly range before. They look really good. May need to order one to play with.

I use this one, I've ordered the 3D printed versions in the past but they didn't look good
