Grrr..Blaupunkt TV

Hi all,
Just wanted to get a grip on this Blaupunkt led TV, we recently bought my mother.
She previously had a Tecknika TV that was solid as a rock and lasted 12 years of near continuous use..like 24/7.
It eventually turned up its toes and as money was an issue we opted to get her a 40" Blaupunkt TV. Seriously beginning to regret it. The picture pixelates no matter what the atmospheric conditions are..it turns itself off for no reason, speaker buzz, changing channels is slower than a snail. All in all...pretty much a blooper of a buy. The most annoying thing is that the old TV was on a signal splitter that sent the signal upstairs to a small led TV in the bedroom but the picture was so incredibly bad on the Blaupunkt that the splitter had to be unplugged and tv aerial plugged straight into the main TV.
My question is, how on earth with all the current technology can this TV be so utterly useless? I just can't fathom it....

If it's that bad can't you return it for a refund or replacement.
Apart from the Pixelation which could be a signal issue (if it's a powered splitter it's possible the Blaupunkt has a more sensitive tuner and it's overloading) the speaker buzz and slow channel change are grounds for return as not fit for purpose.
BTW, it's quite possible it came from the same factory as the Technika.
Both are budget brands.

Hi Jaycee,
This is the thing though, I know the Technika was also a budget brand but it never pixelated, not even in bad weather. So it was a straight switch on the same TV table, same aerial, same set up. The signal surely can't be to blame unless somehow it became weaker the same moment we plugged in the Blaupunkt.
It's annoying that these companies get away with selling such inferior products - budget item or not it should still be able to pick up the signal well enough to have a stable picture.
I think you are right though,  it probably should go back. I had hoped there was something I hadn't thought of that could be tweaked to improve it but I realise that probably is unlikely.

Is it a one in, two out powered splitter?
As I stated, it's possible the Blaupunkt has a more sensitive tuner and the signal may be too strong overloading the tuner which can also cause pixelation.
You could try fitting a variable attenuator (from Amazon etc) and fit it inline from the splitter output to the Blaupunkt's aerial socket.

In the menus is there any way to find the signal strength?
