OK so the 970 supports h265 h/w encoding only which is a little weird.

@Darko great shout with pot player, I'd been having issues with smooth 2160p HDR via VLC and took down Pot player on your advice, stutter gone HAPPY DAYS. Strange VLC has served me well for years and never liked MPC (not sure why) but pot player is my new go to for 2160p
