Hi, first time posting but have read AV Forums for years and years.

I got bought a Hudl 2 for bmy birthday last year, (June 2015), and have used it every day. After the Lollipop update battery life was rubbish and sometimes when watching YouTube videos the videos looked a little blurry as though the WiFi was buffering and had not caught up.

However, a few days ago the screen just started flickering and ghosting very badly. There is a row of vertical pixels about an inch in from the part hand side of the screen, (landscape format), and everything from those lines across the tablet to the right hand side looks like it has a net curtain over it, is ghosting and often very flickery.

I have noticed one game app won't load. It's nothing heavy just Majong. The tablet works fine, I am typing on t now. There are no cracks in the screen and it has never been dropped. It has been kept from day 1 in the leather Hudl case.

I gather the screen has gone and either needs a new screen or scrapping. OH is trying the find the receipt so I can ask Tesco what is wrong, (they won't talk to you without details from the receipt), but just wondered if this is a known fault and if there is an outside  chance it is a software issue.

Many thanks for all advice.

Just so you can see what I mean, it's not across the entire screen:

Your best bet is to do a full factory restore to see if that fixes the issue - you will loose any data on the device.
