Tablet not charging

You can try your phone charger if it has the same connector but before you do you need to know the current requirements of the tablet.
What is the rating (volts/current rating) of the tablet charger?, it will be  printed on it...and the same for your phone charger?

Just had a look online at it's user manual.
It uses a microUSB socket for power/charging and it needs a charger with a rating of 5V/2A.

Thanks. It says on my phone charger for the output 5.0V=0.7A. Don't think I will risk it anyway. Where can I get a genuine charger from and are they expensive. If I return the tablet to Argos how can I be sure there is no personal data left on it?

No, your phone charger won't have enough output.
You don't need a genuine charger, a 5V/2A charger with a microUSB plug is a very common type and available anywhere.

Thanks. Before reading your reply, I decided to try the charger for my Acer Iconia A1 tablet. Didn't check the voltage but it sems to be working. It's got up to 3 bars after about 3 hours and I'm sure it's meant to take about 5 hours to fully charge so it may work. I will get a new charger for the tablet though. Where's the best place to get them. Should I avoid ebay and Amazon?
