Leaving aside the alleged foul play in the first one, the second try by he replacement loosehead was definitely a try. He wasn't held, and I'm not sure there's anything in the laws about it being illegal to crawl over the line. You could do the caterpillar over the line as long as no one touches you! I'm glad it didn't come down to those two disallowed tries though, as it would have tarnished the game. Let's just hope today's game is as enjoyable - I'm hoping to stream it on the sly at work (if I can find one that works)!

Very competent performance tonight by the Lions. No slip ups like they did last week. And not a bad crowd for a Tuesday evening in Melbourne, where they barely know what rugby union is!

Onwards and upwards for Saturday now. We'll be in Queensland, not far from Brisbane, so will be looking for a bar, hopefully with a few more red-shirts to help us cheer the boys on.

As I said England more than deserved the win. The two tries were disallowed for different reasons. The first, at the end of the first half, was disallowed by the really stupid use of the knee by the English number 5, for which he served 10 minutes in the bin. It was really a daft thing to do as the try was bound to and did indeed come. If Wales had controlled the ball better at the base of the scrum when almost over the line during the sin binning period then the game may, may, have been too far for England to chase.

The second try was disallowed because the player crawled over the line. Easy one for the officials.

He wasn't held but failed to get back to his feet. Thus in scoring he did not place the ball immediately but made [several] double movements, ie, crawling. By being on his knees he was on the ground and thus out of the game. I think he was pinged for the double movement.

I don't think you're find many red shirts - plenty of maroon jerseys - its rugby league State of Origin game 2 tomorrow don't you know?

GO THE MAROONS!

It's hard to avoid!

We watched the first game - very exciting, if I'm honest, although I've never been a fan of the 13-man game.

If the Blues win, it'll be all over by the weekend anyway. Although my brother lives in Sydney, he's a QLD supporter, so hoping for a maroon win to even things up. Sadly, I think the final game is after we leave so will probably miss it.

I may take the judicious decision and not wear one of my Cardiff Blues shirts while traveling round Queensland

Was he even tackled? I thought he got knocked off-balance/to the ground, then made an attempt to get up, but in doing so scrambled forward. I would have to watch it again. I suppose law 14 could come into play, as in 'the game is to be played by players who are on their feet'. Isn't 'double movement' just a phrase coined by commentators?

Nice performance by the Lions yesterday though. I was able to watch most of it at my desk in work. Thought Farrell had a really good game, as did Youngs, Tuilagi, Grey, and Faletau. O'Brien looked good as well, and the front row were much improved. Zebo butchered a try by being greedy, but otherwise the wings looked quite sharp. Maitland looked better than he has all tour. It will be interesting to see what changes Gatland makes for the second test.

He simply lost his balance, as there was no tackle he should have regained his feet but I think size and momentum was against him and that whitewash was too tempting. He should have gone to ground and recycled the ball. But he's a forward, what do you expect.

Three changes, two through injury so perhaps Mako Vunipola and Geoff Parling. Tommy Bowe could oust Cuthbert because of his defence is stronger. I thought Ian Evans put in a great performance as did Richie Grey so Parlings place could be up for grabs. I really like the way Evans has been playing this year. Will he give Faletau the 8 berth after his man of the match performance?

Parling in as is Lydiate with O'Brien and Croft on the bench.Good calls me thinks even though POC and Corbs losses are massive.I just hope Vuni can hold his own in the scrum.B Youngs gets a deserved call as well as does Bowe
