I feel some 'opening ceremony tickets perseverance' coming in the next week or so. I managed to get some of them by checking the site many times a day, so will just have to keep it up!

How much of this is actually security related as it is local devolpment? Could well be a case of taking extra precautions in a time where the capital is still liable to a threat of some degree.

Perhaps, but once the games are over the security risk will diminish quite a lot I would have thought and it will be no more a target than any other London landmark.

Moreover, if they sell tickets as has been discussed, then there is no reason for the security checks to be any less than they have been during the games.

But mute point, as clearly it isnt going to happen

definitely. Just to have a walk around the park and perhaps a look around the inside of the stadium/velodrome/aquatics centre.

Hopefully they'll do it. Prior to the olympics there wasn't much buzz but since it went so well it makes sense to open it during the autumn. They can start the refurb after that and it'd raise a decent amount of money

I think it is just too late.
The plans and contracts are in place, and the bulldozers are already waiting at the gates.
The transformation of the Olympic park already has deadlines to meet.
Giving the public a few weeks to 'wander around' just isn't part of the plan unfortunately...

weather its too late or not, it is still not right to just destroy the park without giving people the opprtunity to see the park during autumn.

It is a massive let down. total farce
