Hi everyone, I'm  off to LA on the 15th and I'm just looking at sorting out my travel insurance. The problem im having is finding cover that includes decent gadget cover, or even any at all.

The main items I want covered are my iphone 6S Plus, a Fujifilm X100T camera and a Nikon D3300, and my iPad mini. I'd guess around about £2000 to £2500 of cover would be about right to replace these items, if I were to lose them all.

Can anyone recommend a company they have used before, ideally if only want one policy that could cover the general stuff and the gadgets, but if it's better to get two different policies I'd be open to this also.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I'm not sure... think I'd rather keep them separate though, just in case I did need to make a claim as I wouldn't want it causing my home insurance to go up.

Even if your travel insurance did provide cover the vast majority, if not all, work on a co-insurance basis and therefore depending on the terms of your Home insurance they would seek to involve your Home insurers anyway for any article thats covered by both policies.

Generally speaking property cover on travel insurance is token at best as its 80% about medical expenses and 19% about cancellation/curtailment. As has already been suggested, your generally going to get better/more comprehensive cover from the "personal possessions"/ "all risks" of your Home insurance
