Masthead amplifier power supply replacement

Hi All - I'm a newbie (and lacking in techy know-how) and hope this is posted in the right spot. I've had an 'SLX PSU Masthead Amplifier Power Supply (Model 27832R output 12V DC at 60mA max) connected to the aerial coax for about 15 years and it's worked perfectly, but it's just died. It's not the fuse (checked that) so I've been trying to source a replacement. I've spoken to Philex (the manufacturers I think) and they don't have a direct replacement available - they do have a Labgear one via Screwfix but it's got F type connectors rather than standard coax. I've also found what seems to be a direct replacement on ebay but the seller hasn't replied to my request for more information. I just wondered if anybody knew what I can buy that will be a comparable replacement (or if it's possible to get some kind of F-type:Coax converter/connector - screwfix do have these but the thread seems to be wrong). Connector type isn’t an issue to change on the coax - either cut off and attach the other required type or use an adaptor.

Power supply matching is more about matching the electrical side of things IME. Does the new one inject the same amount of power?

Finally do you have a splitter in the roof? These have a tiny bit of circuitry in them so the power goes up the coax connected to the masthead amplifier and not to every coax socket connected to the splitter. Must admit I don’t recall these faiilinh and blocking the power to the amplifier but I haven’t seen hundreds a year

When you say the power supply has died is that by measuring its output at the power supply itself? No power up at amplifier input? If so don’t worry about things between power supply and amplifier

The adaptors you need for the F connectors on the new power supply are F connector male to PAL female. These screw into the F connector on the amplifier presenting a PAL connector (normal coax connector a few years ago ) for your existing connection to plug into

Edit - if you want to get 10 (all that Screwfix seem to have) I think these are the ones.

Thanks for the replies and the effort to help OUTOFTHEKNOW - I am grateful. I'll try to answer your questions but apologies if I get the wrong end of the stick. There isn't a splitter in the roof, the coax comes straight down from the aerial (amplifier I guess) and into the living room through the wall. The old power supply unit used to just sit behind the TV. It's the power supply unit that's died - the red LED power light won't come on (tried a new fuse) and there's no signal at the TV.
That new F type:Coax connector looks spot on - the power supply unit available at screwfix is this one https://www.screwfix.com/p/labgear-screened-masthead-amp-power-supply-12v/80459 - it shows the power output at 100mA but the old one was 65mA according to the label. Is it ok to use the one with a higher rating or should I try to find one with a lower value?

All good with one cable all the way to the amplifier. Removes any other possible issues no matter how small or unlikely?

The power supply simply injects 12V so that matches your masthead amplifier. The current rating of that new one is higher than the dead one so the new one has higher power capabilities. That is the way it needs to be when replacing power supplies. Correct voltage and same or higher maximum power capabilities. The masthead amplifier will pull the same power/current it always did

New power supply and the correct adaptors for the existing coax cables and PAL plugs to be connected as they are now and it should all leap back into life. Just double check the PAL plugs on your cables in and out of the dead power supply. If one is male and one is female you would need one of each of the adaptors I linked. Or change the cables so they have the correct PAL plug on each end with whatever adaptor you use on the F connectors on the new power supply. You can probably see why F connectors have taken over in connecting coax cable - male thread sticks out of “thing” and female thread is on every cable
