Hi All. Can anyone tell me and then show me how to transfer programs recorded from one Sky HD box to another,as one is now playing up and Sky says all we need to do is a restart which means losing all programs saved. Please Help
Many Thanks

AFAIK you can’t transfer programs saved on the hard drive. A feature I always thought should be possible but never implemented. Not 100% sure with Sky but we use the same boxes over here (near enough) and same policies so I’m guessing it isn’t possible. A quick Google suggests that legally at least that is still the case.

I think purchased to keep stuff can be downloaded again onto the other box but that makes sense and isn’t the same as what you are wanting to do.

There is, or used to be, software to do it.
Sky copy   and expvr.
However both of these are old software packages and i dont know if they work any more.
Both of them require you to remove both hard drives and connect them to a PC using hard drive caddies.

Dis-assembling sky boxes is not for the beginner and involves a certain amount of risk.
Also , transferring terabytes of data over USB takes a long time.

Obviously this is not sanctioned by Sky and not covered under any warranty.
Other than the above methods , there is no way to do it.
