Good choice of car and that 3L with the 8 speed ZF gearbox would be a pleasure to drive, no doubt.

I've nothing really to add, but just worth mentioning you could have an XJ for the same money, and they have the 3L engine as standard, 271 BHP. Its another level up on luxury entirely if luxury is your thing (try to get one with the Bowers and Wilkins sound system in it)

Its on my bucklist so I will buy one eventually, when I think the time is right. Hard to beat this kind of value

@Don Dadda

Using the above string alerts users to the thread, sure Greg has an XF so thought he might be able to add his tuppence.

There are companies that will delete the dpf. They empty it out and reprogram the ecu. You can have it mapped at the same time. Stops dpf issues.

If it is gutted, will it still pass the MOT? I googled this and apparently it will pass but you know VOSA are not going to give in that easily so changes are a foot if not already done so as that info is a month shy of a year old. It seems they may fail MOT even if it is tampered with.

Will my car fail its MOT if I have the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) removed or gutted

Important question - whats the average servicing costs of these?

One question to ask is how easy would it be to get a gutted DPF fixed if VOSA clamp down and start making proper testing of it part of the MOT.
