Kodi Alpha Appears On Xbox One

Excellent. I only got a One S a few weeks ago, as the Black Friday deals were too good to miss. Kodi on it has made it an even better deal, and takes me right back to the days of running XBMC on my original Xbox.

I got NFS shares to work from a Windows 10 PC using the open-source NFS server “WinNFSd”. So far it has been able to play everything I tried, same as running it on a Raspberry Pi, but it feels much more responsive. Only problem I have is that the IR remote doesn’t seem to work, so can’t control with my Harmony, but I’m sure that will be fixed eventually.

With UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, all the streaming services and now Kodi, the Xbox One is suddenly the ultimate all in one home streaming box!

I'm so glad this has appeared as I can now ditch my aging and slow pi. I do have a couple of questions if anyone can help.

Is there a way I can turn my console on using an android phone? I have the Xbox app but it only has the option to turn it off.

Is there an android app I can use to control kodi? The official xbox app doesn't work in the kodi interface and the app I normally use (yatse) doesn't find it and I can't add it manually.

I'm using the Xbox smart glass app on Android
It allows me to turn it on.

Side menu
Scroll down to Console
Select it
Consoles on network
Select yours
And an option popped up to turn on.

Thanks for that. I could have sworn I have tried that and never found the turn on option before.

Does it work with hd audio? I should install it and test it myself really but thought I’d ask first.
