Well, it's done. Might not be the correct way, but it did the trick.
Step 1: Add new drive. Step 2: Allow Diskstation to install it with the default Synology Hybrid Raid and begin expanding the storage (took 4 days to complete!). Step 3: Follow the Mode 2 reset instructions to reinstall DSM.
That was it. Amber light on front of device turned green and System Partition Crashed message disappeared from the Storage Manager. |
