For me it's more the cost of changing tbh, it would cost roughly £2-2.5k to change for what I want, and there's little difference between the final image from the EM1 with 12-40mm that there would be in the A7iii and 24-70mm f4, and certainly not £2k's difference.

In an ideal world I'd shoot FF for everything, but my D750 and lenses is too big and heavy for travel, and Sony FE mount is just too expensive.

Yeah the cost is huge. I'm going to have to drop 2.5k£ for the body   kit lens   the 50mmm   85mm prime.

I think MFT for me is just limiting what I want to do, especially from a video perspective. Is the IQ I'll get from full frame worth the 2k? Most definitely not in the short term. And TBH I would have never even considered full frame until the A73 has come at such a respectable price.

Its still going to be a difficult pill to swallow and the truth is the cost of an A73 for me could buy me: 1. drone 2. macro lens 3. f2.8 zoom lenses x2 covering 12-100mm f2.8/24-200mm full frame equivalent or I could probably forfiet the lenses and get some REALLY good lighting which would improve pictures x10 where I can control light.

The issue is I really want good video autofocus, I want to be less worried about lighting, I want more dof when I want it, I would like 10fps burst mode, and eye auto-focus is basically cheat mode for portraits.

Its such a difficult decision. MFT gives you more flexibility weight wise and ergonomics, but forfiets flexibility in regards to low light performance and artistic expression with DOF.

Looking at your site btw, excellent work!

Did he deliberately pick the most annoying music for his video?

Tbh I’ve no doubt IQ will be top notch, it’s AF acquisition speed and tracking that I’m interested in.

Have you read the potential issues with some lenses. Apparently if you stop down it actually stops down the aperture prior to taking the shot meaning it can struggle in AF as there’s not enough light getting in. I know previous A7’s were plagued with this but they seemed to have got it sorted, strange it should read its ugly head again. No confirmation yet of which lenses.

I'm enthused by what Sony are ding, especially in an entry-priced camera.
I keep thinking to bite the bullet finally on my Canon 1dsmkii. Especially considering upgrades in focus speeds, but in addition, my Canon has 7 stops of DR compared to the almost double that of these new secures types

What to do .. L glass and metz flash systems and a lifetime of filters...

Hello Guys,

Nice to see a thread on here about the A7iii.

Anyway I was at the Photography Show on Saturday and yes I came home with one.  I come home with the following items

Sony A7iii
Sony 85mm 1.8
Sony 24-70 F4
Sony 70-200 F4

I choose  those lens as those what I need for my needs I did look at the GM range but for what I do and the amount of time I use such as the 70-200 lens I just couldnt justify the cost of the GM.  All the lens I have got are God Damn Sharp there nothing wrong with any of them.

The camera itself WOW... What can I say what a fantastic camera it is. The Speed of the AF and this is the first time I had a feature Eye AF and this is a damn good feature IMO it helps taking images of my daughter much easier as the eye tracker never leaves her eye as she moves about as she such a wiggler..  Everything about this camera is just fantastic I really have grown to love it. The images that comes out of the camera have all been sharp and clean to my eyes.  At the moment I am shooting Jpeg till Adobe update there Raw.

I am loving the EVF and Live view as this is something I like and missed.

Here just a few images for you to look at nothing special as not been far yet.
