Eh?

May be it's me but I can't help feel this is a clever way to join; under the umbrella of doing good!

Indeed for me there would be no humanitarian need for this if the IS had not declared jihad.

What's even more confusing is there name as they are not a state; and I question if even religious given the acts they preform

Was a joke, although it's been suggested that it is a translation error and might mean raisins instead (same with 'Virgin' Mary, but there is other precedent for that one).
Also Ann Widicome is likely to die a virgin ...

What would happen here in the West, if there was an army going round and massacring people in the name of Christianity?

Would European countries get together to fight them?

Miloskovic (sp?), happened a few decades ago, yes we did, and he's facing war crimes now.
We probably didn't act fast enough though as there were plenty of mass graves, it was NATO that had to act as the UN would not.

Although it was more ethnic cleansing than in the name of Christ, there is a distinction but the similarities are closer.

Why is it that the arab league dont get together and sort out IS then? Not capable? not willing? or not united?

If it were protestant and catholic in the cross fire and the local powers were split with which sides they supported, and any show of force would be met with the countries favouring the other side, with an almost inconsequential (for the powers) smaller number of other ethnicities caught in the middle, and countries ruled by kings and not democracy ...

Then yes medieval Europe was full of that sort of sh*t.
The middle east may have a veneer of modernity but without countries embarrassing modern values its just nutters from the middle ages with better weapons and the same temperament.

I think it its all that.... What i do feel though is just because this is happening in another country you can't just say not my issue. Like i mentioned earlier post if we said that re Germany things would be very different now and i would be sporting a silly mustache and a combover!

Your comments regarding nazi Germany are incorrect. We were at war, here in Europe, war was declared. 80 million people died at the hands of the nazis.

Not willing my guess no point in whipping up a hornet's nest within your own boundaries, export your trouble and get someone else to take all the blame and sort it out.
