I'd like a full free trade deal covering goods and services, but not freedom of movement.
Of course this would be dependent on fair and free markets without subsidies for things such as the steel industry as China has been (apparently) doing.

However that is exactly why these trade deals are complicated, long winded and take such a long time to setup.

Yes, they are.
But they will be much more straightforward for the UK to negotiate than for a 27/28 nation EU.

However the country may prefer to negotiate with a group of 27 markets, rather than one at a time. Swings and roundabouts (2.5% import tariff on Swings and roundabouts )

that may well be the case now. An Independent Scotland ,having adopted the Euro ,may well choose to continue buying many of its imports from and "independent taking back control" England with its very muchweakened pound.Would we stillbe able to afford to buy theirgoods?

Hey? They would be cheaper.

doesnt a weaker pound mean imports are more expensive? If an independent Scotland adopts the Euro then anything we buy from them would cost more , wouldn't it? Likewise, anything we bought from countries which use the dollar as a trading currency would cost us more as well, particularly if ,as predicted, the pound reaches parity with, or even, dips below the dollar

I thought you were asking from a Scottish perspective.
I reckon we could live without buying much from Scotland, but could they get away without buying from England?
